Come show your support as Chef Franson competes against four others in Top Chef semifinals August 5th.
FORT WORTH, TX, July 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Congratulations to Chef Franson Nwaeze of Chef Point Cafe! Chef Franson, selected one of the top 10 chefs in Fort Worth by Fort Worth Texas Magazine readers and the Top Chef Panel, will compete in the second semifinal round of the Fort Worth Top Chef competition August 5th at the Morrison Showroom.
Chef Franson, who has no formal culinary training, considers himself extremely honored to compete against four other distinguished Fort Worth chefs, saying, "I feel like I am already a winner by just being chosen as one of the top 10." He would love for his fans to come out and support him when he competes August 5th. "I would be honored to have all of my fans there to cheer me on," says Chef Franson.
Eric Hunter of the Fire Oak Grill narrowly defeated Anthony Felli of Del Frisco's to win the July 8th semifinal competition, during which the judges allowed the chefs 30 minutes to filet and prepare Mahi Mahi. Hunt and Felli will compete against the first- and second-place finishers from the August 5th semifinals in the finals on September 9th to decide Fort Worth's top chef. A prestigious panel that includes Chef Tim Love will judge the Top Chef Challenge.
Chef Point Cafe served bread pudding and whatnots to the guests during the July 8th semifinals, and they absolutely loved the succulent samples. Comments from the treated guests included, "The bread pudding was to die for," "The samples were scrumptious" and "That certainly isn't restaurant food."
Bread pudding, along with "Better than Sex Fried Chicken," is among the signature dishes on Chef Nwaeze's restaurant menu. Chef Franson will compete against four other chefs in the second semifinal round of competition, to be held August 5th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Morrison Showroom, located at 5001 Bryant Irvin Road North in Fort Worth. Silverwest Limousine will provide bus service from the Lockheed Martin Recreation Association, which is two blocks south of the Morrison Showroom on Bryant Irvin Road. There is no charge to attend the semifinals, but everyone must RSVP to rsvp@morsco.com.
The Fort Worth restaurant has Paula Deen, the Food Network's Guy Fieri and NPR's Kitchen Sisters all raving. The fine dining restaurant was featured recently on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" show.
