Mr. Mead has two years of experience as the director of marketing and public relations, Capitol Area Council, for Boy Scouts of America where his area of expertise lies in overseeing operations and media relations. The Boy Scouts of America is a non-profit organization that provides a combination of fun, adventure and values in order to foster boys to become strong members of the community and nation. Mr. Mead's responsibilities include acting as a spokesperson for the Boy Scouts, developing and maintaining communication strategies and overseeing media services, investor relations and marketing partnerships. Prior to working with the Boy Scouts of America, Mr. Mead worked for 13 years in television news as a producer and executive producer. He worked for such stations as NBC Austin and FOX in Kansas City, Chicago and Houston.

He attributes his success to his work ethic and considers his greatest professional accomplishment was overhauling the communication practices, both internal and external, local Scouting program in Central Texas. His long-term goal is to improve problem-solving capabilities within the Boy Scout organization and take the initiatives to expand to a wider, perhaps state-wide level.

Mr. Mead received his Bachelor Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Texas in 1992. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. He received the Award of Excellence for External Communications, Southern Region Silver Quill, from the International Association of Business Communicators in 2007. He also won the Best Marketing Campaign Award, 9th Annual National President's Award for Marketing Excellence in 2007, the Best Positive Public Relations Award in 2008, the Best eNewsletter Award, 10th Annual National President's Award for Marketing Excellence, the Best Friends of Scouting Brochure Award, and the Best Positive Public Relations Award.
